The Ubiquiti airFiber AF-5U is a powerful 5GHz full-duplex wireless backhaul radio designed for high-capacity point-to-point (PtP) links. Operating in the license-free 5GHz spectrum (5725–6200 MHz), it allows service providers and network engineers to deploy high-performance wireless connections without licensing fees or regulatory complexity.
Built for carrier-grade networking, the AF-5U delivers wireless throughput exceeding 1.2 Gbps, enabling ultra-fast data transmission with extremely low latency. Using Ubiquiti’s xtreme Range Technology (xRT), the device can establish stable long-distance links of 100+ km, making it ideal for wireless ISP backhaul, enterprise campus connectivity, and remote infrastructure networks.
The device features a dual-independent 2×2 MIMO antenna architecture, with separate transmit and receive antennas. This design improves link budget and eliminates signal losses typically caused by shared antenna systems with RF switching components.
